The purpose of the Membership Committee is the promotion and retention of membership in Branch 7025. This is achieved by increasing community awareness of the mission of the NAACP, as well as the specific goals, programs and activities of Branch 7025. The Committee is responsible for the administrative functions associated with new memberships and renewals, and interfacing with the State and National NAACP.
Friday in the Park is a free “block party” where family and friends can get together to enjoy music, dancing, local vendors, food, Zumba, basketball and other games. This new event was initiated in 2019 and held at both the beginning and end of summer.
Overflow Wine and Music Festival is our primary membership drive and was another new initiative for 2019. It was all planned to be held at Historic St. Mary’s City until COVID hit so rather than cancel we decided to hold it virtually. This event featured 3 hours of entertainment consisting of local talent and interviews with local wineries, distilleries and small businesses.
