A Message From the Education Committee ChairIn 2022, we are continuing our programs for educational empowerment and advocacy and are seeking donations in support of our 10th Annual Southern Maryland HBCU College and Career Fair and this year we are including the Claudia Pickeral Memorial Scholarship. The Fair will be virtual and held on February 19, 2022. Students will receive information about college, career and scholarship opportunities. We will also celebrate African American History Month by featuring Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). Local colleges, career representatives, and community support services will be included as well. This event has been very successful thanks to the generosity of businesses, organizations, and community members. We invite schools in the tri-county area and have had hundreds of students in attendance. Recruiters give out on the spot acceptances to colleges and participants have received scholarship funding for thousands of dollars. Below are suggested levels of sponsorships. However, all donations and support are appreciated. We are asking that all donations be sent by February 11th. We look forward to having your help to provide students with the information and resources needed to move forward in their careers and success in life. Sincerely, Janice T. Walthour, EdD Education Committee Chair Sponsorships
